SIDS & Other Infant Death Survival Guide The SIDS Alliance of Northern California provides complimentary copies of the SIDS & Other Infant Death Survival Guide (by Joani Nelson Horschler & Robin Rice) to Northern California families and daycare providers surviving the loss of an infant to SIDS. To request a copy, please contact info@sidsnc.org. The Guide was recently translated into Spanish and the Spanish language version is also available through the SIDS Alliance of Northern California.

Grief Support Organizations & Peer Contacts There are Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Support Groups throughout California. These groups offer caring and compassionate support to you and your family while coping with a SIDS death. Trained SIDS parent volunteers host bereavement support meetings throughout the year. Please contact info@sidsnc.org for more information about available support groups or about training to establish a support group in your area. If you are not able to attend a SIDS support group, but would like to speak to a peer contact - a SIDS parent or grandparent who has experienced the loss of a baby to SIDS - please also contact info@sidsnc.org.
Burial Expense Assistance As the parent of a newborn, there are many things you expect to do for your child, but providing funeral and/or burial services is never one of those expectations.  For some families, the cost of a funeral and/or burial is a huge financial burden.  The SIDS Alliance of Northern California would like to help these families at their time of need and has a burial expense assistance program available for Northern California SIDS families.  For more information, please contact info@sidsnc.org.
